This privacy policy details how we use your personal information, Falmouth Harbour Marine Services requires your name, address, telephone number and email address to enable us to trade with you. We do not direct market our customers by email or by post but we do detail information of products and services that we provide on our invoices, letter headed paper and business cards.
The Right to be informed
Our privacy policy is available on our website, by email or by post upon request. We will provide privacy information at the time we collect personal data from our customer/s. If we obtain personal data from other sources, we will provide individuals with privacy information within a reasonable period of obtaining the data and no later than one month.
The Right of Access
Falmouth Harbour Marine Services holds the following information about you:- Your name, address, telephone number and email address. A copy of the information we hold on you can be obtained by email or in writing and will be sent to you within one month of its request, we will ask you to provide identification to ensure we do not disclose your information to the wrong person. When engines are ordered the companies we use require your name and address is supplied by us, other trade suppliers also require this information for some types of fabrication or repair. Very occasionally we will be asked to forward your contact information to other tradesmen who are working on your vessel for the purposes of invoicing and safety, the information we hold on you can only be forwarded to them if it has been requested in writing by email or by post, verified on their official company documentation. Our company accountants have access to your name only, for our business taxation calculations. They are not permitted to use this information provided by us for any marketing purposes.
For unpaid accounts we use FSB debt recovery and will pass your information to them to recover the money we are owed.
The Right of Rectification
For any data rectification or amendment to the information held on any customer we require the correct details to be sent to us in writing by email or by post. Any corrections are usually made as soon as they are received but please allow up to one month for this to be carried out.
The Right to Erasure also known as ‘the right to be forgotten’
If you withdraw your permission to consent to the use of your data it wil be removed from our electronic systems immediately however where this information is required by law it may remain in our archived information for six years. Our paper and back up CD information is destroyed securely by shredding, we do not sell or recycle any used business equipment with their hard drives.
The Right to Restrict Processing
Your data is used by us for invoicing, communication, safety and warranty on the products that we supply to you. Our credit/debit card terminals require that we take your email address to receipt transactions, we do not retain any credit or debit card details. Our data controller is our office administrator who secures your information, our engineers also require access to this data for safety reasons and communication. Your information is kept inside locked cabinets and our electronic systems are password protected with restricted access.
The Right to Data Portability
The information we hold about you can be sent electronically by email, it will not be sent as an attachment but will be included in the email body or by post which will be sent on Falmouth Harbour Marine Services letter headed paper.
The Right to Object
This applies to direct marketing, we do not direct market our customers but we do detail information of products and services that we provide on our invoices, letterheaded paper and business cards.
The Right to Intervention on Automated Decision Making
We do not use any automated decision making.
